Why I built Journey Builder

It started with our anniversary

My wife and I were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary, and I wanted to plan a road trip for it. I turned to AI to help me plan it.

It didn't make things easier. Every suggestion of where to go and how long to stay led to endless hours of more research. Each place I wanted to visit meant looking into how long to stay, what to do there and where to sleep.

Then there was the car: renting it, where to pick it up, where to drop it off, and when. Keeping all of it straight became a huge organizational nightmare.

What was missing

I wanted one place that tracked everything, and I wanted it to be easy. I couldn't find it.

Other trip apps gave me a blank slate to fill in myself. Asking ChatGPT gave me a so-called planned trip, but I had no idea whether it would actually work, and it didn't give me the actual route.

So I built it

Journey Builder is the app I wanted for that trip. You tell it where you're starting and where you're going, choose your roads and your stops, and pick what to do, where to eat and where to stay. It arranges all of it into days, around the drives, the meals and anything you've already booked.

My goal is to make planning any trip easy, not just a road trip. It starts with road trips anywhere in the United States and Canada.
