Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Journey Builder ("we", "us"): this website, journeybuilder.app, and the Journey Builder app at roadtrip.journeybuilder.app. By pre-registering, creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Journey Builder.

What Journey Builder is

Journey Builder is a tool for planning road trips. It works out routes and drive times, suggests places, arranges your days and keeps your plans together. It's a planning service: we don't sell or book hotels, flights, rental cars or activities. When you follow a link to "Compare rates" or search for flights, hotels or cars, you're taken to a partner's site, you book with them, and their terms apply. We may earn a commission when you do.

Check before you go

Travel information changes and isn't always right. Drive times, distances, routes, opening hours, prices, weather, flight times and anything written by the AI features are estimates to help you plan, not guarantees. Confirm anything important, such as opening hours, reservations, road closures, border rules and flight times, with the source before you rely on it.

On the road, follow traffic laws and road signs, and use your own judgment. Don't use Journey Builder while you're driving.

Pre-registration and accounts

• Pre-registering doesn't guarantee an account by any particular date. We'll email you when yours is ready.
• Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, or have a parent or guardian agree to them for you.

Your content

Your trips, notes and other content stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them, including sending them to our service providers, as needed to run Journey Builder for you. When you add other people as travellers, make sure they're happy for you to do so. Don't add anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to share.

Paying for Journey Builder

• Prices, and what each purchase includes, are shown in the app before you buy. Taxes may apply.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, which you can do at any time from your account. It stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
• If something isn't right with a purchase, email support@journeybuilder.app within 14 days and we'll review it with you. This doesn't affect any rights you have under consumer protection law.

Using Journey Builder fairly

Please don't:

• copy, scrape or resell Journey Builder, its data or its content;
• try to break, overload or get around its security or usage limits;
• reverse engineer it, except where the law allows;
• use it to break the law or to harm others.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

Other services

Journey Builder uses services from other companies, including maps, place information and weather. Features powered by Google Maps are subject to the Google Maps Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Map data is from © OpenStreetMap contributors. We aren't responsible for other companies' sites or services.

Our content

Journey Builder, its design, software and content (other than your content and other companies' data) belong to us. You may use them only to plan your own trips.

Changes and availability

We're always improving Journey Builder, so features may change, and it may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll let account holders know. Using Journey Builder after a change means you accept the new terms.

Ending your use

You can stop using Journey Builder at any time. To delete your account, email us from the address on your account. We may stop providing Journey Builder, or close an account, with notice where we reasonably can.

Our responsibility

Journey Builder is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will be error-free, and we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from travel arrangements you make, including with our booking partners. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can't be limited by law.

Text messages (SMS)

Journey Builder text messages. When you tick the box agreeing to text messages, we send you trip reminders, confirmations of requests you made, and replies to your support questions at the mobile number you gave us. You don't have to agree to texts to use Journey Builder.

• Frequency: message frequency varies with your trips and requests.
• Cost: message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
• Stop at any time: reply STOP to any message and you'll get one message confirming you're unsubscribed, then no more texts. You can also email us to stop.
• Help: reply HELP to any message, or contact us using the details below.
• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• How we handle your mobile number is in our privacy policy. We never sell or share it for marketing.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you're a consumer, you keep any protections the law where you live gives you.
